Nike co-founder Phil Knight on Oprah

Who’s behind the famous Swoosh logo that’s known all over the world. Having always shunned away from publicity and the press, Phil Knight the co-founder and chairman of NIKE talked candidly to Oprah about the establishment of Blue Ribbon Sports, its subsequent change to Nike, and all of the influential people endorsed by the product. He tells the story of Carolyn Davidson, the girl commissioned for a mere $35 to come up with what’s now considered the most famous logo in the world. Years later, following the sky rocket success of the company, Carolyn was given an undisclosed amount of stock in the company.

Hearing Phil Knight talk about what the company has meant to his life had me intrigued to look up more information of this success story, revisiting some classic Nike commercials, and posting them on my site for you to enjoy :)

One of my proudest moments in my career was being a part of Nike’s Delicious Training campaign. Any athlete will say the day Nike calls is the day you have made it! I couldn’t think of a logo I’d be more proud to rock then the swoosh! I found the pictures page 2 in a Seventeen Magazine, as the profile picture on the Nike Women Facebook page, and other teen magazines.
